Fiorentina linked with a loan move for Charly Musonda

Fiorentina are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Belgium international Charly Musonda.

The reports in Italy suggested that Fiorentina are linked with a loan move for Chelsea attacking midfielder Charly Musonda.

The Belgium international was signed by Chelsea in July 2012 from Anderlecht for a fee of 2.55 million euros. The 21-year-old has a contract until 2022 with the club.

Musonda made 10 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this season, scoring four goals and supplying one assist in return.

The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Belgium.

Charly Musonda has represented Belgium at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 51 caps and scoring 11 goals.

Stefano Pioli is looking to shore up his attacking options and Chelsea’s Charly Musonda happens to be a target. He has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.

The Belgium international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacking player Stefano Pioli wants to target in the winter transfer window.

According to the report, Fiorentina have asked Chelsea to take Charly Musonda on loan with an option to buy. It seems that Chelsea are unwilling to include an option to buy as part of the deal, but Antonio Conte would be open to a six-month dry loan. The 21-year-old impressed last year in a loan spell at Real Betis. Negotiations will continue, as Fiorentina hope they can help Musonda’s development in the same way they did Mohamed Salah.

Stylistically, Musonda would be a great fit in Fiorentina.

Charly Musonda would reportedly be interested in a move this winter, but if Fiorentina do want him, they will have to beat Celtic for his signature.
