Fenerbahce frontrunners to land Liverpool forward Divock Origi

Fenerbahce are reportedly holding intense negotiations with Liverpool in order to sign Divock Origi in the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in British and Turkish media, Fenerbahce are frontrunners to land Divock Origi.

The Belgium international was signed by Liverpool in July 2014 from Lille for a fee of 12.6 million euros. The 25-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.

The forward has banged in 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 42 matches for Liverpool last term on all fronts.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Belgium.

The Liverpool forward has also represented the Belgium at various youth levels before going on to secure 28 senior caps for his country thus far.

Origi is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Liverpool this summer and the list of suitors in the Belgium international continues to grow.

By the club’s own admission, Origi is Fenerbahce’s number one transfer target.

The Belgium international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of forward Erol Bulut wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Fener are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

There is no doubt that Divock Origi will take Fenerbahce’s attack to a different level.

According to the report, “Origi is considered back-up to Liverpool’s front three but it is thought he would be open to a switch for the right offer if there was a promise of regular first-team football. The Turkish outfit are one of five clubs believed to be interested in landing the Belgian this summer. Aston Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham are keen on Origi’s signature, but Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur claims Fenerbahce have made the first move. Konur states that Fenerbahce have made enquiries with Liverpool over the possibility of taking the 25-year-old on loan. Liverpool are open to letting Origi go providing Fenerbahce pay a loan fee and for the agreement to include a mandatory obligation to buy clause.”

Fenerbahce must improve their attacking options and the signing of Origi would be a step in the right direction.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Fenerbahce.
