Everton will look to sign James Tomkins

centre-back James Tomkins is a target for Everton in January.

The reports in England suggested that Everton will look to sign Crystal Palace defender James Tomkins.

The England international was signed by Crystal Palace in July 2016 from West Ham United for a fee of 12.3 million euros. The 28-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.

James Tomkins has played 38 times for Crystal Palace since signing from West Ham United, scoring three goals in that time.

The 28-year-old has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 37 caps.

The England international has impressed in the Premier League this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.

Sam Allardyce is looking to shore up his defensive options and Crystal Palace’s James Tomkins happens to be a target. He is a long term admirer of James Tomkins and believes he can get the most out of the England international.

Everton will be desperate to make an impact in winter transfer window.

According to the report, Sam Allardyce wants James Tomkins in 23 million euros deal as his first Everton January transfer. The Everton manager also wants to start the process of building for the future with Tomkins, who he managed for four years at West Ham. Roy Hodgson will be loathe to sell his star with Crystal Palace fighting to stay up.

The 28-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Everton squad and would be a good buy in January.

Having signed James Tomkins for 12 million euros in the summer of 2016, to make a 11 million euros profit on the 28-year-old who, without question, will be fantastic for Crystal Palace is a good deal all round.
