Everton linked with Luka Jovic
There has been numerous strikers linked with Everton in past few months.
According to multiple reports emanating from Spain, Everton are linked with Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.
The Serbia international was signed by Real Madrid in July 2019 from Benfica for a fee of 63 million euros. He has a contract until 2025 with the club.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Serbia. Jovic has left his mark at the international stage after netting 7 goals in 21 senior appearances for the Serbian national team.
Luka Jovic is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Real Madrid this summer and the list of suitors in the Serbia international continues to grow.
Frank Lampard is looking to shore up his attacking options and Jovic happens to be a target. He is a firm fan of Real Madrid striker and Everton could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
The Toffees are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Benfica man is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Lampard’s side.
According to the report, “Everton are eyeing available Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic. AS says Everton can go down one of two transfer routes to sign the forward. The report claims they could meet Madrid’s asking price, but that stands at €30m (£25m), or alternatively, Madrid would be willing to let him go out on loan just to get his wages off the books. Jovic, who has scored once in 17 appearances so far this season, earns €4.5m per season, which roughly equates to £72,400 per week. Jovic joined Real during the 2019 summer transfer window. However, he has so far struggled to hit the heights expected.”
Euro Football Rumours
Everton will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Jovic to join the club.
However, Everton will have to balance the books before attempting to land Jovic.
Real Madrid are preparing to sell their striker should they receive right offer for him.
Good signing for Everton?
Signing the striker could be a good decision as he could improve Lampard’s attacking options.
Luka Jovic could offer a smart solution if Everton can manage to get him on loan. If the deal works out and the 24-year-old plays well, a permanent deal could be pursued and if he fails to perform, Luka Jovic can return to Madrid.
A move away from Madrid will not be only the best move for Jovic, but also for the club.
It will be interesting to see if Everton can beat their rivals to the striker’s signature.
