Everton linked with Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media, Everton are linked with Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.
Stephane Ruffier has joined Saint-Etienne from Monaco for a fee in the region of 3 million euros in July 2011. The 30 year-old has a valid contract with Saint-Etienne until June 2021.
Since his arrival from Monaco, Stephane Ruffier has conceded 265 goals and provided 109 clean sheets in 274 games for Saint-Etienne, including conceded 36 goals and provided 15 clean sheets in 38 games this season in all competitions.
The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in France.
Stephane Ruffier has represented France at Under-21 level, winning three caps, before making his senior international debut in August 2010. As a member of France national team, he won three caps.
The France international is a goalkeeper who has impressed many European clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that Everton manager Ronald Koeman would prefer playing him as a replacement of Joel Robles.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Ronald Koeman is in the market for a new keeper in the summer transfer window and France international is on his list. According to the rumours in Italian Media, if the Everton manager can’t land Sunderland’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this summer, he will turn to the experienced Stephane Ruffier.
