Everton are interested in Chelsea veteran defender Branislav Ivanovic
According to the football transfer rumours in Serbian Media, Everton are interested in Chelsea veteran defender Branislav Ivanovic.
Branislav Ivanovic has joined Chelsea from FC Lokomotiv Moscow for a fee in the region of 12 million euros in January 2008. The Serbia international was signed by his former Chelsea manager José Mourinho. The 32 year-old has a valid contract with Chelsea until the end of the season.
Since his arrival from FC Lokomotiv Moscow, Ivanovic has scored 33 goals and provided 33 assists in 376 games for Chelsea, including 15 games in all competition this season.
According to the rumours in English Media, Everton captain Phil Jagielka is prepared to leave after ten seasons spent with the Merseyside club, and the Premier Club are looking for his replacement.
The Serbia international is a player who has impressed many Premier Clubs in the last nine seasons, and it is understood that Everton manager Ronald Koeman would prefer playing him as a central defender together with Ashley Williams.
How strong that interest is and whether Everton will make a January move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
