Crystal Palace linked with a move for Jordan Amavi
There has been numerous left-backs linked with Crystal Palace in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Crystal Palace are linked with a move for Olympique Marseille left-back Jordan Amavi.
The 26-year-old has been with Olympique Marseille since 2018, having signed for the club from Aston Villa for 10 million euros. The France international’s current deal expires in 2021.
The left-back has featured in 14 matches for Marseille this term, netting one goal in all competitions.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 26-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Jordan Amavi has represented France at Under-18, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 18 caps and scoring one goal.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Crystal Palace.
Palace are looking to sign a left-back and have identified the 26-year-old as potential transfer target.
Roy Hodgson is a firm fan of Marseille left-back and Crystal Palace could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
Crystal Palace are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Amavi is a skilled left-back who can make a difference at both ends of the pitch. His arrival would give Crystal Palace some much needed tactical flexibility.
According to the report, “Crystal Palace are eyeing Olympique Marseille fullback Jordan Amavi. Palace are in the market for a new left-back with Patrick van Aanholt off contract in June and youngster Tyrick Mitchell’s deal also winding down in June. Sky Sports says Amavi is under consideration for a January return to England. The defender is a former Aston Villa player and has past experience in the Premier League. Amavi is a first-choice for OM coach Andre Villas-Boas and has stated this season he’s happy in Marseille.”

If Amavi is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Crystal Palace.
The 26-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Crystal Palace squad and would be a good buy in the winter transfer window.
Amavi has all the skillset required to be a success story at Crystal Palace. Therefore, it makes sense for Hodgson to step up his attempts to bring the France left-back to Premier League side.
