Crystal Palace and West Ham linked with a summer move for Stoke defender Glen Johnson
Crystal Palace and West Ham United are linked with a summer move for Stoke City defender Glen Johnson, according to the football transfer rumours in English Media.
Glen Johnson has joined Stoke City from Liverpool on a free transfer in July 2015. The 32 year-old has a valid contract with Stoke City until the June 2017.
After his arrival from Liverpool, Glen Johnson has provided three assists in 49 games for Stoke City.
Glen Johnson has also represented England at Under-16, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 50 caps across all age groups. Since November 2003, Johnson is a member of England national football team, winning 54 caps and scoring one goal.
The England international has been in poor form for Stoke City this season.
Glen Johnson has been long term target of Sam Allardyce and Slaven Bilic as the managers look to bolster their defensive options for the next season.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Allardyce is prepared to move for Glen Johnson in the summer transfer window because he wants to add competition for Joel Ward at right-back position.
How strong that interest is and whether Crystal Palace and West Ham United will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
