Chelsea will look to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson

It’s been a transfer window full of surprises, and Chelsea could be set to carry on this trend.

The reports in Italy suggested that Chelsea are set to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

The 25-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Brazil international joined Roma from Internacional for a fee in the region of 8 million euros in July 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2021.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Brazil.

Alisson has represented Brazil at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning 14 caps, before making his senior international debut in October 2015. As a member of Brazil national football team, Alisson won 26 caps.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Chelsea.

According to the Football Italia (via La Gazzetta dello Sport), “Chelsea are reportedly ready to dive in with a €70m proposal for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, sending Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a goalkeeping merry-go-round is in full swing. Alisson has been targeted by Liverpool and Real Madrid so far, but neither club got close to the valuation of €70m plus performance-related bonuses. Once Maurizio Sarri is formally hired as the new manager of Chelsea, they can begin their transfer strategy in earnest. That includes a bid for Alisson worth €70m including bonuses, which can at least narrow the gap with Roma’s asking price.”
