Chelsea will look to sign Aurelien Tchouameni

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Chelsea will look to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Monaco spent 18 million euros to sign the France international from Bordeaux in the winter of 2020. The 21-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.

The midfielder has banged in two goals in 28 matches for Monaco this term on all fronts.

The 21-year-old has long been touted as one of France’s most promising young talents.

Tchouameni has represented France at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 52 caps and scoring one goals, before making his senior international debut in September 2021. As a member of France national football team, Aurelien Tchouameni won seven caps.

He has been in impressive form for Monaco this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel wants to sign a new midfielder and Tchouameni is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

Chelsea have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

The former Bordeaux man will offer the Chelsea boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

According to the report, “Chelsea are making a push to secure Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchomuameni in January, according to Goal. The Blues are very eager to add the 21-year-old Frenchman to their Champions League winning squad. The Stamford Bridge club also retain an interest in West Ham United and England star Declan Rice. Any winter move for Tchouameni may depend on outgoings, with the Blues likely needing to move players along to make funds available for his transfer fee and wages. Monaco may also be unwilling to sell in the middle of the season, especially when they can ignite a bidding war in the summer.”
