Chelsea tracking Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media, Chelsea are tracking Valencia CF defender Ezequiel Garay.
Ezequiel Garay has joined Valencia CF from Zenit for a fee in the region of 24 million euros in August 2016. The 30 year-old has a valid contract with Valencia CF until June 2020.
Since his arrival from Zenit, Ezequiel Garay has scored three goals in 31 games for Valencia CF in all competitions this season.
The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in Argentina.
Ezequiel Garay has represented Argentina at Under-23 level, winning nine caps, before making his senior international debut in August 2007. As a member of Argentina national football team, Garay has won 32 caps.
The Argentina international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would prefer playing him as a central defender.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are apparently trailing Chelsea in the pursuit of Valencia CF defender Ezequiel Garay.
How strong that interest is and whether Chelsea will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
