Chelsea set to sign Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani
Chelsea appear to have a genuine interest in signing Daniele Rugani.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Chelsea are set to sign Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.
The 23-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2021.
Rugani made 67 appearances across all competitions for Juventus, scoring five goals and supplying two assists in return.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 23-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
As a member of Italy national football team, Rugani won seven caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Chelsea.
Maurizio Sarri has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.
Rugani has the talent to play many roles in defense.
According to Football Italia (via SportItalia), “Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay €50m to sign Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, who will be offered a €5m per season contract. The centre-back worked with new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri at Empoli, but has struggled to hold down a regular place in Turin. Despite his agent insisting today that the Bianconeri don’t want to sell, SportItalia is reporting that a meeting will take place in Milan later this week to close a deal. Juve are ready to accept a bid of €50m for the defender, who will be offered a contract worth €5m per season. Sarri wants to have Rugani by the weekend, as protracted talks between Chelsea and Napoli to release the Coach have already robbed him of part of pre-season.”
