Chelsea eyeing Wolverhampton centre-back Max Kilman
There has been numerous centre-backs linked with Chelsea in past few months.
Reports in the British media claim that Chelsea are eyeing Wolverhampton centre-back Max Kilman.
The England international joined Wolverhampton from Maidenhead United on a free transfer in August 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2026.
The centre-back has featured in 28 matches this term, netting one goal in all competitions.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 24-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
Chelsea are looking to sign a centre-back and have identified the 24-year-old as potential transfer target. The report claims that Chelsea manager has extensively scouted Kilman and is considering a move for the centre-back.
The Blues are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.
The former Maidenhead United man is often quick to scan the danger and is not shy of getting stuck in with some well-timed tackles to help secure possession back for his side.
According to the report, “Wolves defender Max Kilman is being watched by Chelsea. Chelsea are preparing to make a move for Wolves defender Max Kilman – a boyhood fan of the Blues, says talkSPORT. Kilman was born and grew up in south-west London, and was part of Fulham’s youth academy before dropping into non-league. However, the 24-year-old is now on the verge of joining one of Europe’s elite clubs after impressing at Molineux since making the leap to the Premier League. Kilman has played in all 24 league games for the Old Gold this season, scoring once in November’s 2-1 win over West Ham.”
Euro Football Rumours
Wolves are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the centre-back, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Chelsea might have to pay over the odds to sign the centre-back.
Good signing for Chelsea?
Max Kilman stands as an excellent option for Chelsea.
Of course, the 24-year-old is not going to become a regular for Chelsea straightaway, but working under Tuchel would make him a better player.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Chelsea.
How strong that interest is and whether Chelsea will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
