Chelsea eyeing move for Ismael Bennacer
Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of Ismael Bennacer at Milan.
As per British and Italian media, Chelsea are eyeing move for Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer.
AC Milan spent 16 million euros to sign the Algeria international from Empoli in the summer of 2019. The 22-year-old has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.
The midfielder has featured in 33 matches for Milan this term, netting one goal and providing one assist in all competitions.
The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Algeria. As a member of Algeria national football team, Bennacer won 22 caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Chelsea.
Frank Lampard is looking to shore up his midfield options and Milan’s Ismael Bennacer happens to be a target.
The Chelsea manager has been impressed by his performances this season and could make a move this summer. Lampard wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.
Ismael Bennacer would provide a good variety to Chelsea’s midfield.

The Algerian international was on Arsenal’s books between 2015 and 2017 – making just one first-team appearance. His performances with Empoli earned himself a £14.5million move to AC Milan last summer – where he has put himself back on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs. Calciomercato.com says Chelsea are interested in bringing him back to London – and could offer a cash-plus-player deal to secure their man. AC Milan’s asking price of around £45m could prove an obstacle for the Blues, who have already spent big on Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech – with Kai Havertz also expected to sign imminently.”

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.
The 22-year-old would be a very good addition for Chelsea and they can afford him as well.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Chelsea.
