Celtic looking to loan Yan Couto
It is an open secret that Celtic need to sign a right-back.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Celtic are looking to loan Manchester City right-back Yan Couto.
The Brazil international joined Manchester City from Coritiba for a fee in the region of 6 million euros in July 2020. His contract expires in the summer of 2025.
The 19-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Brazil. Couto has represented Brazil at Under-17 level, winning 13 caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Celtic.
Ange Postecoglou wants to sign a new right-back and Couto is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. The Celtic manager has kept an eye on Couto for the last 12 months and he is impressed with the right-back’s performances.
The Brazil international is a very comfortable defender and has qualities which would improve the Celtic’s backline.
According to the report, “Celtic are still holding out hope to persuade Yan Couto regarding a loan move from Manchester City this summer. The young Brazilian was invited to watch the Hoops take on Jablonec in the Europa League on Thursday. The Scottish giants want the young right back on loan, but other clubs are also showing an interest, per Sky Sports. Couto has not made up his mind about where he wants to play the coming campaign. He spent the previous season on loan with Girona in Spain.”

The Scottish giants will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Couto to join the club.
If Celtic can agree on a fee with City, the deal should be easy to complete.

If Couto is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Celtic.
As for the player, Glasgow could be a great place for him to grow as a footballer. They will be able to provide him with regular first-team football and he will be coached by a very good manager like Postecoglou.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Celtic.
Celtic fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
It will be interesting to see if Celtic can beat their rivals to the right-back’s signature.
