Bournemouth eyeing move for Peterborough United striker Ivan Toney
Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of Ivan Toney at Peterborough United.
British source claim that Bournemouth are eyeing move for Ivan Toney.
The England international joined Peterborough United from Newcastle United for a fee in the region of 720,000 euros in August 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2021.
This season, Toney has scored 21 goals and provided 6 assists in 35 appearances for Peterborough United.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 23-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
His performances have seen him become the target of many Premier League clubs including Bournemouth.
The report claims that Bournemouth manager has extensively scouted Toney and is considering a move for the striker.
Toney is a long-term target of Bournemouth and could be a decent addition for Eddie Howe’s side.
According to the report, ” Bournemouth are lining up Peterborough’s Ivan Toney to replace Manchester United target Josh King. Posh striker Toney, 23, who has scored 21 goals this season, is one of the hottest properties in the EFL. Cherries’ striker King looks increasingly likely to leave the south coast this summer, having been linked with a £25million move to Old Trafford in the January transfer window. Struggling Bournemouth, regardless of which division they are in, would then have the money to land Toney even though he could cost up to £13m.”

Peterborough United are reluctant to let Toney go, but a big enough bid could persuade them to sell.
However, a move to Bournemouth will be ideal for the 23-year-old at this point of his career.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Bournemouth.
Whether he will join Bournemouth or not remains to be seen.
