Borussia Dortmund target Cole Palmer to boost their midfield options.

According to multiple reports emanating from England and Germany, Borussia Dortmund are in talks with Manchester City over loan deal for midfielder Cole Palmer.

The 20-year-old midfielder has played all his life at Manchester City. He has made his way through the youth system at the English club and made his senior debut in 2020. He has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2026.

In 14 appearances for Manchester City, Palmer has managed to score three goals, and create one goal for his teammates.

The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in England. Palmer has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 48 caps and scoring 4 goals.

Edin Terzic needs to sign players who can add creativity from the middle of the park.

The German giants have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

The England Under-21 star, who can play on the wings or as a no.10, is highly rated by City boss Pep Guardiola. However, the 20-year-old wants regular game time to make the progression in his game to get a first-team spot at City. According to The Sun, Dortmund are very keen on Palmer, even if it is only a loan with no option to buy. The German club has a track record of developing English players, including Jadon Sancho and currently Jude Bellingham. Palmer is most likely to play a bigger role at City in 2023/2024, when winger Riyad Mahrez may leave.”
