When Borussia Dortmund set their eyes on a player, more often than not, they force their way into getting him. This time they have set their sights on Timo Werner, and the club are working hard to cut a deal with Chelsea for the striker.
The reports in Germany suggested that Borussia Dortmund are frontrunners to land Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
He has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
The Germany international only joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2020 for 53 million euros and his contract runs to June 2025.
He has featured in 27 matches this term, netting 7 goals and providing 4 assists in all competitions.
The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Germany. His record for Germany is also impressive. Werner has scored 22 goals in 48 matches for Germany at senior level.
According to the reports,Timo Werner will now be allowed to leave in the summer transfer window.

The German has struggled in the Premier League, but was prolific for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga before transferring in 2020. Werner would be happy with the move, as he would likely be BVB’s starting centre-forward. According to German outlet Sport1, Chelsea would demand at least £33m for the 26-year-old. The Blues paid £47m for Werner back in the summer of 2020.”
