Bayern poised to land Timo Werner
It’s no secret that Bayern are interested in Timo Werner. But who isn’t?
German source claim that Bayern Munich are poised to land Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
The Germany international joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for a fee in the region of 53 million euros in July 2020. His contract expires in the winter of 2025.
The striker has featured in three matches for this term in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Germany. Werner has left his mark at the international stage after netting 19 goals in 45 senior appearances for the Germany national team.
The Germany international striker has struggled to adapt to English football and he could be made available next summer.
The Bayern Munich manager is in the market for a new striker. Julian Nagelsmann is a long term admirer of Timo Werner and believes he can get the most out of the Germany international.
The German giants are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Werner is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Nagelsmann’s side.
The 25-year-old would provide a good variety to Bayern Munich’s attack.
According to the report, “Chelsea striker Timo Werner is being linked with a Julian Nagelsmann reunion at Bayern Munich. Werner and Nagelsmann enjoyed a stellar relationship during their time together at RB Leipzig, with the young coach overseeing the most prolific period of the much-maligned striker’s career. Now, reports in Germany suggest that the pair could link up once again, with Sport 1 reporting the German international could end up at Bayern Munich under the guidance of Nagelsmann as soon as next summer. The report claims that Werner is seeing a drastic improvement in his form at international level under fellow German boss Hansi Flick, bagging two goals in two games this international break – a far cry from his performances in west London. Nagelsmann is thought to still be in regular contact with his former star and his name has been discussed among the Allianz Arena hierarchy as a potential Robert Lewandowski replacement after the current Bayern talisman told the club he is seeking a new challenge.”

The Blues are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the striker, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
Good signing for Bayern Munich?
Timo Werner stands as an excellent option for Bayern.
A move to Bayern Munich is exactly what Werner needs to reignite his career, and we hope he is able to do just that.
