Bayern Munich linked with a move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld
It’s been a transfer window full of surprises, and Bayern could be set to carry on this trend.
The reports in England suggested that Bayern Munich are linked with a move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgium international was signed by Tottenham in July 2015 from Atlético Madrid for a fee of 16 million euros. The 29-year-old has a contract until 2019 with the club.
Alderweireld made 109 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham, scoring six goals and supplying three assists in return.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in Belgium.
As a member of Belgium national football team, Alderweireld won 83 caps and he scored three goals.
The defender has just 10 months remaining on his contract and Tottenham may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.
Niko Kovač is looking to shore up his defensive options and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld happens to be a target.
The report claims that Bayern manager has extensively scouted Alderweireld and is considering a move for the defender.
Toby Alderweireld has the talent to play many roles in defense.
According to Mirror, “Toby Alderweireld could be offered an immediate route out of Tottenham by Bayern Munich. The German giants have the Spurs centre back on their shortlist of potential replacements for Jerome Boateng.”
