Bayern Munich keen to land Brais Mendez

Bayern Munich need to strengthen their attack this summer.

The reports in Spain suggested that Bayern Munich are keen to land Celta Vigo winger Brais Mendez.

Mendez made 55 appearances across all competitions for Celta Vigo, scoring 7 goals and supplying 8 assists in return.

The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Spain.

Brais Mendez has represented Spain at Under-17 and Under-21 level, winning 5 caps, before making his senior international debut in November 2018. As a member of Spain national football team, Mendez won one cap and he scored one goal.

His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.

Brais Mendez would provide a good variety to Bayern Munich’s attack.

According to Football Espana, “Bayern Munich are considering a move to sign Celta Vigo winger Brais Mendez in a €25m deal. El Desmarque cite German journalist Christian Falk as report in Sport Bild that the Bavarian club are considering activating the clause of the Spain international, whose contract in Vigo expires in June 2021. It has actually been claimed that Celta have offered the player to the German champions as they wish to raise funds following the arrivals of Denis Suarez and Santi Mina – who have returned to the club from Barcelona and Valencia respectively. A versatile midfielder who can play on either flank, Mendez only made his Celta debut in the 2017/18 season but is already a fixture in the team and earnt his first Spain call-up last campaign.
