Bayern Munich eyeing move for Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric

According to the football transfer rumours in Croatian Media, Bayern Munich are eyeing move for Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.

Luka Modric has joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee in the region of 30 million euros in 2012. The 31 year-old has a valid contract with Real Madrid until June 2020.

Since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur, Luka Modric has scored 11 goals and provided 31 assists in 207 games for Real Madrid, including one goal and provided four assists in 34 games in all competitions this season.

The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Croatia.

Luka Modric has represented Croatia at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 28 caps and scoring three goals, before making his senior international debut in March 2006. As a member of Croatia national football team, Modric has won 95 caps and scored 11 goals.

The Croatia international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last decade, and it is understood that Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti would prefer playing him as a central midfielder.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been interested in cashing in on 31 year-old Croatia international Luka Modric in the summer transfer window.

How strong that interest is and whether Bayern Munich will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
