Barcelona preparing move for Real Sociedad striker
There has been numerous strikers linked with Barcelona in past few months.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Barcelona are preparing move for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose.
The 28-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
Real Sociedad spent 6 million euros
to sign the Brazil international from Deportivo Maldonado in the summer of 2016.
The 28-year-old has a valid contract with Real Sociedad until June 2024.
Willian Jose has scored 8 goals across all competitions this season.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Barcelona.
Quique Setien is looking to shore up his attacking options and Real Sociedad’s Jose happens to be a target. Setien is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
Barcelona are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Willian Jose is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker.
According to the report, “Barcelona are focusing on a deal for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose. Marca says Real Sociedad’s financial demands for Jose are considered high by Barcelona, but the Blaugrana are not willing to throw in the towel. The Brazilian striker is their primary target to cover for Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, who will both be sidelined until the end of the season. His buyout clause is set at €70m and, although the price is negotiable, an agreement doesn’t appear to be easy. Dembele will undergo surgery on Tuesday, when the time of his recovery is expected to be determined. If he is out for more than five months, then Barcelona should be able to proceed with the signing of a striker based in Spain.”

It would take a huge offer from Barcelona to prise the 28-year-old striker from Real Sociedad.
Nevertheless, Jose stands as an excellent option for Barcelona.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Barcelona.
How strong that interest is and whether Barcelona will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
