Barcelona monitoring Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni

The defensive department of the Barcelona squad needs quality additions this summer.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Barcelona are monitoring Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni.

Inter spent 31.1 million euros

to sign the Italy international from Atalanta in the summer of 2017. The 22-year-old has two years left on his current contract which expires in 2023.

The centre-back has featured in 39 matches for Inter this term, providing 4 assists in all competitions.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Italy. The Inter Milan centre-back has also represented the Italy at various youth levels before going on to secure 4 senior caps for his country thus far.

The Spanish giants are looking to sign a centre-back and have identified the 22-year-old as potential transfer target. They have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

Alessandro Bastoni is a very comfortable defender and has qualities which would improve the Barcelona’s backline. Bastoni is a traditional defender. He is solid while defending and holds his position perfectly.
