Barcelona are considering a move for Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, according to the football transfer rumours in British media.
Shkodran Mustafi has been at Arsenal since 2016 when he joined from Valencia. The 28-year-old’s contract at Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
In 146 appearances for Arsenal, Mustafi has managed to score 9 goals, and create 5 goals for his teammates.
The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Germany.
Mustafi has also left his mark at the international stage after netting two goals in 20 senior appearances for the Germany national team.
He is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Arsenal this winter and the list of suitors in the Germany international continues to grow.
Adding a centre-back remains Barcelona’s top priority this winter and Ronald Koeman will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
Koeman is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.
Barcelona are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.
The 28-year-old is often quick to scan the danger and is not shy of getting stuck in with some well-timed tackles to help secure possession back for his side. Mustafi has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

And Sport says Mustafi is among the candidates being considered inside Barca. While he’s in the plans of Gunners manager Mikel Arteta, Mustafi has resisted efforts to open new contract talks. His current deal expires in June. And a move to Barca would be attractive, with Mustafi having previous experience in LaLiga with Valencia.”
