Barcelona appear to have a genuine interest in re-signing Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Barcelona will consider bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
The Spain international has joined Bayern Munich from Barcelona for a fee in the region of 26 million euros in July 2013. The 26-year-old has a valid contract with Bayern Munich until June 2021.
Alcantara has played 135 times for Bayern Munich since signing from Barcelona, scoring 21 goals and creating 23 assists in that time.
The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Spain.
Thiago Alcantara has represented Spain at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 44 caps and scoring 17 goals, before making his senior international debut in August 2011. As a member of Spain national football team, Alcantara has won 25 caps and has scored one goal.

The Spain international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Valverde wants to target.

The Spanish giants are already in contact with Thiago’s father and agent, Mazinho, about a return in Barcelona next summer. However, they will take some convincing to leave Bayern.
How strong that interest is and whether Barcelona will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
