Diario AS cite a report in German publication Bild that Los Rojiblancos have moved into prime position to land the midfielder from Schalke, who are already losing Leon Goretzka to Bayern Munich on a free. The report indicates that following the departure of Yannick Carrasco, Nico Gaitain and Augusto Fernandez in January, Atleti are keen to bolster a squad which contains just 17 outfield players.”
