It’s claimed by Spanish media that Atletico Madrid are interested in Barcelona star Sergi Roberto.
The 30-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
He has banged in two goals and provided one assist in 12 matches for Barcelona this term on all fronts.
Roberto has also left his mark at the international stage after netting one goal in 11 senior appearances for the Spain national team.
Given that his contract is expiring soon and he has not yet signed an extension, the rumors have only heated up in recent weeks.
Sergi Roberto is set to be a man in demand in the summer transfer window, with a host of clubs queuing up to pursue his signature.
Atletico Madrid are looking to sign a right-back and have identified the 30-year-old as potential transfer target. They are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

Barça are aware that Roberto wants to stay at the club and has still not committed to any other team as a result. However, early negotiations saw the two parties miles apart on any sort of agreement. The 30-year-old is currently sidelined after undergoing surgery.”

Sergi Roberto has all the skillset required to be a success story at Atletico Madrid. Therefore, it makes sense for Atletico to step up their attempts to bring the Spain midfielder to Madrid.
