Arsenal are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Italy international Nicolo Barella.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal will look to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
Barella made 94 appearances across all competitions for Cagliari, scoring 7 goals and supplying 2 assists in return.
The 21-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Italy.
As a member of Italy national football team, Barella won 4 caps.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The report details that Unai Emery feels his midfield currently lacks some bite and that he could strengthen this winter.
Emery is a long term admirer of Barella and believes he can get the most out of the Italy international.
Arsenal are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The 21-year-old’s performances in Serie A this season have been attracting plenty of interest, with United already said to have tabled an offer for the Italy international. Indeed, reports on Tuesday claimed that Cagliari have told United that their €33.4m offer for the player has been flatly rejected. Chelsea have also been linked with Barella, but now Sky Italia (via TribalFootball) claims that Arsenal have contacted Cagliari over the player’s availability. Barella has previously stated that his style of football suits the Premier League, although Cagliari are only said to be willing to sell the player if they get a bid of £45m.”
