Arsenal tracking the progress of Ben Godfrey
Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey has emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal are tracking the progress of Ben Godfrey.
The England international joined Norwich City from York City in 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.
Godfrey has scored one goal and assisted two more across all competitions this season.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in England.
The England international has impressed in the Championship this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.
Unai Emery is looking to shore up his defensive options and Norwich City’s Ben Godfrey happens to be a target.
According to Tribalfootball (via The Mirror), “Arsenal are tracking Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey. The 21year-old has played a signficant role for the Canaries as they currently sit top of the Championship. And the Mirror claims Arsenal have been keeping an eye on the young defender. Both the Gunners and Manchester United had scouts in attendance for City’s 3-0 win over Ipswich Town over the weekend. Godfrey is currently rated around £10 million.”

A big money bid from Arsenal could tempt Norwich City into selling their prized asset.
Signing the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Unai Emery.
If he turns out to be a key player like many expect, it could be one of the club’s smartest transfers. Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Arsenal.
How strong that interest is and whether Arsenal will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
