Arsenal looking to loan Arthur Melo
It’s no secret that Arsenal are interested in Juventus’ star Arthur Melo. But who isn’t?
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal are looking to loan Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.
The Brazil international joined Juventus from Barcelona for a fee in the region of 76 million euros in September 2020. His contract expires in the summer of 2025.
In 43 appearances for Juventus, Melo has managed to score one goal.
Arthur Melo has also left his mark at the international stage after netting one goal in 21 senior appearances for the Brazil national team.
He is currently out of favor at Juventus and could leave the club this winter.
Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new midfielder and Melo is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The Brazil international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfielder Arteta wants to target in the winter transfer window.
The Gunners are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
There is no doubt that Arthur Melo will take Arsenal’s midfield to a different level.
According to the report, “Arsenal are interested in Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo. Sky Italia says Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen for some reinforcements in midfield – particularly with Thomas Partey absent at the Africa Cup of Nations – and a loan move for Arthur has been discussed. However, the Gunners are yet to make contact with the Serie A club about any deal. It comes as a move for Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes looks less likely, due to the £37.5m price-tag involved. Arthur has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham, though that was before his switch to Italy in 2020.”
