Arsenal keen to land Malcom

It’s no secret that Arsenal are interested in Malcom. But who isn’t?

Arsenal are keen to land Barcelona winger Malcom, according to the football transfer rumours in British media.

The Brazil international only joined Barcelona from Bordeaux in 2018 for 41 million euros and his contract runs to June 2023.

Malcom has scored 4 goals and assisted 2 more across all competitions this season.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Brazil.

Malcom is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Barcelona this summer and the list of suitors in the Brazil international continues to grow.

Unai Emery wants to sign a new winger and Malcom is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

The Arsenal manager wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Europa League next season.

Malcom would provide a good variety to Arsenal’s attack.

According to Teamtalk, “Arsenal are reportedly leading Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Malcom after the Brazilian winger was told he was free to leave Barcelona this summer. The 22-year-old forward started just six LaLiga matches under Ernesto Valverde last season following a surprise switch from Bordeaux, but now looks set to leave as Barca look to free up spaces in their squad. With Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal, as well as Malcom, already on Barca’s books not to hold an EU passport, one will be required to leave if Barca are to push through with the proposal to resign Neymar this summer. And Malcom is seen as the fall-guy with Barcelona prepared to allow him to leave to free up space in their squad. According to AS, Arsenal are leading the hunt to sign the winger, with Unai Emery particularly interested by rumours that he could be allowed to move on in an initial loan deal with a view-to-buy.”

TOP FOOTBALL TRANSFERS 2018-2019

Arsenal have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Brazil international.

A move away from Barcelona will not be only the best move for Malcom, but also for the club.

How strong that interest is and whether Arsenal will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
