Arsenal join the hunt for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema
Arsenal appear to have a genuine interest in signing Karim Benzema this summer.
According to a report from Calciomercato, Arsenal join the hunt for Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
The France international was signed by Real Madrid in July 2009 from Lyon for a fee of 35 million euros. The 30-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.
Since his arrival from Lyon, Benzema has scored 190 goals and provided 114 assists in 404 games for Real Madrid, including nine goals and 11 assists in 39 games in all competitions this season.
The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in France.
His record for France is also impressive. Benzema has scored 27 goals in 81 matches for France at senior level.
Arsenal are looking to shore up their attacking options and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema happens to be a target.
The France international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacking player Arsenal want to target in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid appear to be adamant that no key players will be sold this summer, but Arsenal are reportedly ready to tempt them with an offer in the region of 40 million euros for Karim Benzema.
The France international is well-learned in the Real Madrid’s system and an important part of the first-team. There’s no way Real Madrid would be willing to let Benzema go at a bargain.
The Spanish champions are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the striker, but offers of at least 80 million euros may force the club to consider a deal.
Signing the 30-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Arsenal.
