Alaves looking to loan Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz
The midfield department of the Alaves squad needs quality additions this winter.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Alaves are looking to loan Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz.
The 20-year-old has six years left on his current contract which expires in 2025. He has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Spain.
Brahim Diaz has represented Spain at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 18 caps and scoring 3 goals.
Alaves shortlist Brahim Diaz as prime transfer target this winter.
Asier Garitano Aguirrezábal has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players in Spain. He is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.
There is no doubt that Diaz will take Alaves’s midfield to a different level.
According to Football Espana, “Real Madrid’s out-of-favour playmaker Brahim Diaz has been approached by Alaves for a January loan deal, report Radio Marca. It is claimed that both teams have a strong relationship at boardroom level and the deal could be similar to the one for Marcos Llorente in the 2016-17 campaign. The Malaga native joined Los Blancos in a €15m deal from Manchester City in January but a report in Marca in November suggested he now may find himself surplus to requirements. It followed a report in Cadena Ser that the player had already rejected a loan switch to second division club Rayo Vallecano. The 20-year-old missed the majority of Madrid’s pre-season with a hamstring injury before suffering a fresh setback in late August with an abdominal injury. Brahim featured in 11 matches last season after joining in a January deal from Manchester City and appears to have a bright future in the game. However, the youth international started four of their final five La Liga games last season, quelling reports that he would be allowed to leave on loan this summer. The player’s father has since become his agent and it had appeared that his long-term future lies in Madrid, although he has yet to be afforded more first-team opportunities this season. Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek have both been strongly linked to Madrid, which would further limit Brahim’s opportunities.”

A move to Alaves is exactly what Brahim Diaz needs to reignite his career, and we hope he is able to do just that.
Signing the 20-year-old in the winter transfer window would be a masterstroke from Aguirrezábal.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Alaves.
It will be interesting to see whether Alaves will make their move during the winter transfer window.
