Ajax to consider bid for AZ Alkmaar left-back Ridgeciano Haps
According to the football transfer rumours in Dutch Media (Football Oranje), Ajax will consider bid for AZ Alkmaar left-back Ridgeciano Haps.
The 24-year-old has a valid contract with AZ Alkmaar until June 2019.
Haps has scored 5 goals and provided 10 assists in 111 games for AZ Alkmaar, including one goal and provided four assists in 49 games in all competitions this season.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Netherlands.
Ridgeciano Haps has represented Netherlands at Under-20 level, winning one cap.
Marcel Keizer has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players in Netherlands.
Haps is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Marcel Keizer wants to target in the summer transfer window.
Ridgeciano Haps has been long term target of Marcel Keizer as the manager look to bolster his defensive options for the next season.
Ajax are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.
The left-back can also play as a full-back, offering Marcel Keizer a different option should he change his formation at Ajax.
AZ Alkmaar are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the left-back, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
How strong that interest is and whether Ajax will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
