AC Milan set to sign Stefano Sensi
Stefano Sensi is a target for AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
According to a report from Calciomercato, AC Milan are set to sign Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi.
The Italy international was signed by Sassuolo in January 2016 from Cesena for a fee of 5.25 million euros. The 23-year-old has a contract until 2020 with the club.
This season, Sensi has scored 2 goals and provided 5 assists in 30 appearances for Sassuolo.
The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Italy.
Stefano Sensi has represented Italy at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning 4 caps, before making his senior international debut in November 2018. As a member of Italy national football team, Sensi won two caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many Serie A clubs including Milan.
The report claims that AC Milan have extensively scouted Sensi and are considering a move for the midfielder.
Milan are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
According to Football Italia, “Milan are reportedly close to signing Sassuolo and Italy midfielder Stefano Sensi for just €13m. Tuttosport reports Milan are ‘on the verge’ of formalising their deal for Sensi, who has already found a home in the area. The newspaper explains the Rossoneri will pay just €13m for the 23-year-old as they will write off the €12m that Sassuolo owe for Manuel Locatelli. That takes their total outlay to €25m, in turn meeting the Neroverdi’s asking price. The former Cesena playmaker, meanwhile, would have agreed a five-year contract with the Diavolo, worth just under €2m a season.”
