AC Milan linked with surprise move for Monterrey midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro

The latest reports in Italy suggest that AC Milan are linked with surprise move for Monterrey star Rodolfo Pizarro.

The Mexico international only joined Monterrey from Chivas in 2018 for 14.5 million euros and his contract runs to June 2023.

Pizarro made 44 appearances across all competitions for Monterrey, scoring 7 goals and supplying 5 assists in return.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Mexico. As a member of Mexico national football team, Pizarro won 22 caps and he scored 4 goals.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Milan.

According to Calciomercato (via Tuttosport), “Milan are still targeting Monterrey’s 25-year-old midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro. The player is contracted with the Liga MX club until 2023, but Milan are impressed by his performances with the Mexican side. He played over 3000 minutes with the club last season, primarily as an attacking midfielder but occasionally on the left wing. Milan were linked with him earlier in the transfer window and it appears that their interest in acquiring him hasn’t died down.”
