Porto keen on Inter defender Miranda

Porto are showing strong interest in Miranda.

The reports in Italy suggested that Porto keen on Inter defender Miranda.

The Brazil international was signed by Inter in July 2016 from Atlético Madrid for a fee of 9 million euros. The 34-year-old has a contract until 2019 with the club.

Miranda has played 102 times for Inter since signing from Atlético Madrid, scoring one goal and creating three assists in that time.

His record for Brazil is also impressive. Miranda has scored two goals in 52 matches for Brazil at senior level.

Given that his contract is expiring next summer and he has not yet signed an extension, the rumors have only heated up in recent weeks.

The Porto manager is in the market for a new defender.

The Brazil international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Sérgio Conceição wants to target in the winter transfer window.

Porto are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

According to Football Italia (via Calciomercato), “Porto are reportedly ready to pounce for Inter defender Miranda, whose contract expires next summer. According to Calciomercato.com, Inter are confident of extending Miranda’s deal, having already offered the Brazilian a renewal. However, the website remembers how the 33-year-old wanted to leave earlier in the year, amidst interest from Porto. Nerazzurri boss Luciano Spalletti and sporting director Piero Ausilio ultimately convinced Miranda to stay last time around, but he could be swayed by the promise of first-team football and a calmer climate in Portugal. CM notes the Dragao failed with a bid for the former Atletico Madrid stopper over the summer but remain keen ahead of January, when he can enter pre-contractual agreements.”
