Manchester City eyeing move for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard

It’s no secret that Manchester City are interested in Stuttgart’s defender Benjamin Pavard. But who isn’t?

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Manchester City are eyeing move for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

The France international was signed by Stuttgart in August 2016 from Lille for a fee of 5 million euros. The 22-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.

Pavard made 59 appearances across all competitions for Stuttgart, scoring two goals and supplying two assists in return.

He’s incredibly experienced for a 22-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.

As a member of France national football team, Pavard won 14 caps and he scored one goal.

The France international has impressed in the Bundesliga last season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.

Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new defender and Benjamin Pavard is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Pavard and believes he can get the most out of the France international.

Benjamin Pavard has the talent to play many roles in defense.

According to The Sun, “Manchester City have reportedly joined the race for World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard. Le 10 Sport claims the Stuttgart defender, 22, is being eyed by Pep Guardiola after playing a key role in France’s march to glory this summer. Interest is said to be high in Pavard, with Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich all linked. But Guardiola could end up securing his signature in a bid to bolster City’s backline. The Spaniard loves players who can perform to a high standard in multiple positions. Pavard can play at centre-back or right-back, which makes him an ideal fit for the three-man defence Pep has experimented with at times this season.”

Stuttgart are reluctant to let Benjamin Pavard go, but a big enough bid could persuade them to sell.

Manchester City fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club this winter.
