West Ham join the hunt for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner

According to the football transfer rumours in German and English Media (ReadBundesliga), West Ham United have joined the hunt for Red Bull Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

The Germany international has joined Red Bull Leipzig from VfB Stuttgart for a fee in the region of 10 million euros in July 2016. The 21-year-old has a valid contract with Red Bull Leipzig until June 2020.

Timo Werner has scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 32 games for Red Bull Leipzig in all competitions this season.

The Germany international has been in outstanding form for Red Bull Leipzig this season.

Timo Werner has represented Germany at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 45 caps and scoring 33 goals, before making his senior international debut in March 2017. As a member of Germany national football team, Werner has won one cap.

Timo Werner has been long term target of Slaven Bilic and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as the managers look to bolster their attacking options for the next season.

The Germany international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last season, and it is understood that West Ham United manager would prefer playing him as a forward.

Euro Football Rumours understood that West Ham United are preparing an offer in the region of 25 million euros to sign the Germany international this summer.

According to the rumours in German Media, Liverpool are also interested in Red Bull Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
