WBA and Newcastle join the hunt for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic

West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United join the hunt for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic, according to the football transfer rumours in Croatian Media.

Jozo Simunovic has joined Celtic from Dinamo Zagreb for a fee in the region of 7.5 million euros in September 2015. The 22 year-old has a valid contract with Celtic until the June 2020.

After his arrival from Dinamo Zagreb, Jozo Simunovic has scored two goals and provided two assists in 46 games for Celtic, including one goal and two assists in 29 games in all competition this season.

Jozo Simunovic has also represented Croatia at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 48 caps across all age groups and scoring two goals.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest prospects in Croatia.

The Croatia international has been in fantastic form for Celtic this season.

Jozo Simunovic has been long term target of Tony Pulis and Rafael Benítez as the managers look to bolster their defensive options for the next season.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Crystal Palace also keeping a close eye on proceedings.

How strong that interest is and whether West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
