Montpellier striker Steve Mounie has emerged as a surprise target for Watford ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in French Media (Besoccer), Watford are targeting Montpellier striker Steve Mounie.

The Benin international has joined Montpellier in 2009. The 22-year-old has a valid contract with Montpellier until June 2019.

Steve Mounie has played 41 times for Montpellier, scoring 15 goals and creating three assists in that time.

The Benin international has been in impressive form for the French side this season.
