The report claims that VfB Stuttgart manager has extensively scouted Nicolas Gonzalez and is considering a move for the striker.

Gonzalez has the talent to play many roles in attack.

According to Football Italia, “Argentinos Juniors striker Nicolas Gonzalez is reportedly close to joining VfB Stuttgart after links with Cagliari in synergy with Inter. The 20-year-old hitman already attracted a lot of attention with his tally of seven goals and one assist in 23 Primera Division games. It was reported Cagliari would sign him for €10m with the pledge to sell him on to Inter after he had gained Serie A experience. However, Varsky Sports in Argentina are now claiming that Argentinos Juniors are in advanced negotiations with Stuttgart. The German side would pay slightly less upfront, around €7m, but leave Argentinos Juniors a percentage of a future sale that could be very lucrative indeed.”

Signing the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Tayfun Korkut.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Stuttgart.

How strong that interest is and whether Stuttgart will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
