Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen looks set to leave, and Sevilla are considering making a move.

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Sevilla are interested in Joe Allen.

The 28-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Wales international was signed by Stoke City in July 2016 from Liverpool for a fee of 15.5 million euros. The 28-year-old has a contract until 2021 with the club.

Since his arrival from Liverpool, Allen has scored seven goals and provided 13 assists in 145 games for Stoke City, including four goals and seven assists in 37 games in all competitions this season.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Wales.

Joe Allen has represented Wales at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 28 caps and scoring three goals, before making his senior international debut in May 2009. As a member of Wales national football team, Allen won 42 caps and he scored two goals.

Joaquín Caparrós is looking to shore up his midfield options and Stoke City’s Joe Allen happens to be a target.

Sevilla will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

Allen is a dynamic midfielder, who possesses good technical skills and ball control.

According to Football Espana (via The Sun), “Stoke City’s relegation from the Premier League could see Sevilla involved in a five-team tug-of- war for Stoke midfielder Joe Allen. According to a report in The Sun, the Andalusians still retain a keen interest in the Wales midfielder after losing out on him to Liverpool six years ago, and may be ready to join the scramble for his signature once again.”
