Sebastian Rudy wanted by Napoli

Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rudy is a target for Napoli in the summer transfer window.

Napoli are set to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rudy, according to the football transfer rumours in Italian media.

The Germany international joined Bayern Munich from 1899 Hoffenheim on a free transfer in July 2017. His contract expires in the summer of 2020.

Sebastian Rudy has scored one goal in 35 games for Bayern Munich since joining the club.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Germany.

Carlo Ancelotti is looking to shore up his midfield options and Bayern Munich’s Sebastian Rudy happens to be a target.

The Germany international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Carlo Ancelotti wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Carlo Ancelotti is a long term admirer of Rudy and believes he can get the most out of the Germany international.

Sebastian Rudy has the talent to play many roles in midfield.

According to Football Italia (via Sky Sport Italia), “Napoli are interested in Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rudy after a request from Carlo Ancelotti, according to Sky Sport Italia. The 28-year-old Germany international has 25 senior caps under his belt and only joined Bayern last summer. This means he got very little time to work with Ancelotti, who was sacked in September. Nonetheless, Sky Sport Italia claim the Coach wants to have another chance at working with Rudy at the Stadio San Paolo.”

However, there’s one slight problem with this, Bayern Munich still need Rudy. He may not be Bayern Munich’s first-choice midfielder, but he is an excellent back-up.

Bayern Munich are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the midfielder, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

Signing the 28-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Carlo Ancelotti.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Napoli.
