Real Madrid target Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne

Real Madrid appear to have a genuine interest in signing Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media (Don Balon), Real Madrid are targeting Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgium international has joined Manchester City from VfL Wolfsburg for a fee in the region of 74 million euros in August 2015. The 26-year-old has a valid contract with Manchester City until June 2021.

Since his arrival from VfL Wolfsburg, Kevin de Bruyne has scored 25 goals and provided 41 assists in 99 games for Manchester City, including two goals and provided four assists in 9 games in all competitions this season.

The Belgium international has been in outstanding form for Manchester City this season.

Kevin de Bruyne has represented Belgium at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 19 caps and scoring two goals, before making his senior international debut in August 2010. As a member of Belgium national football team, Kevin de Bruyne has won 53 caps and has scored 13 goals.

According to the report in Spanish Media, Kevin de Bruyne’s performances have caught the eye of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. The Spanish giants are in the market for new attacking midfielder. Manchester City have already offered a new contract for the Belgium international to ward off Real Madrid president.

How strong that interest is and whether Real Madrid will make a winter move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
