Napoli submit 26 million euros bid for Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli

Spanish source (Football Espana) report, that Napoli have submitted 26 million euros bid for Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

The Argentina international has joined Real Sociedad from Manchester City for a fee in the region of 7 million euros in January 2017. The 25-year-old has a valid contract with Real Sociedad until June 2022.

Rulli has been in impressive form for Real Sociedad last season.

Maurizio Sarri wants to sign a new goalkeeper this summer and Geronimo Rulli is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Sarri is a long term admirer of  Rulli and believes he can get the most out of the Argentina international.

Napoli are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

Maurizio Sarri will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Real Sociedad goalkeeper is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

According to the report in Spanish Media, Real Sociedad have received an offer of 26 million euros from Italian giants Napoli for goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, but Basque club are confident that Rulli will reject an offer and seek to stay. The Argentina international has a 40 million euros buyout clause in his contract.

How strong that interest is and whether Napoli will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
