Monaco preparing move for Stoke midfielder Giannelli Imbula

Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula has emerged as a surprise target for AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.

Monaco are preparing move for Stoke midfielder Giannelli Imbula, according to the football transfer rumours in French Media (TF1).

The France international has joined Stoke City from Porto for a fee in the region of 24 million euros in February 2016. The 24-year-old has a valid contract with Stoke City until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Porto, Imbula has scored two goals in 28 games for Stoke City. The France international has been in very poor form for Stoke City last season.

Giannelli Imbula has represented France at Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 11 caps and scoring one goal.

The 24-year-old is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Stoke City this summer and the list of suitors in the France international continues to grow.

Adding a midfielder remains AS Monaco’s top priority this summer and Leonardo Jardim will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days.

Leonardo Jardim is a long term admirer of Giannelli Imbula and believes he can get the most out of the France international.

AS Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.

AS Monaco are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

According to the report in French Media, Monaco are preparing a 12 million euros move for Stoke midfielder Gianelli Imbula.

Torino, Galatasaray and Nice are apparently trailing AS Monaco in the pursuit of Stoke City midfielder.

Giannelli Imbula would reportedly be interested in a move this summer, but if Monaco do want him, they will have to beat those other interested clubs to his signature.
