Milan interested in Napoli winger Jose Callejon
Napoli winger Jose Callejon has emerged as a surprise target for AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, AC Milan are interested in Napoli winger Jose Callejon.
The Spain international joined Napoli from Real Madrid for a fee in the region of 9.5 million euros in July 2013. His contract expires in the summer of 2020.
Since his arrival from Real Madrid, Callejon has scored 72 goals and provided 59 assists in 249 games for Napoli, including 10 goals and 11 assists in 42 games in all competitions this season.
The Spain international has been in impressive form this season.
As a member of Spain national football team, Callejon won five caps.
Gennaro Gattuso is looking to shore up his attacking options and Napoli’s Jose Callejon happens to be a target.
The report claims that Milan manager has extensively scouted Callejon and is considering a move for the winger.
AC Milan will be desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.
According to Football Italia (via Il Mattino), “According to Il Mattino, Reina is not the only Napoli player the Diavolo are interested in, as they’re also keen on Callejon. The two players share an agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, and during the talks for Reina there was also a discussion about his compatriot. Callejon would cost around €35m, but Milan are considering offering Suso to Napoli to try and lower the cost.”

Signing the 31-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Gennaro Gattuso.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in AC Milan.
How strong that interest is and whether AC Milan will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
