Milan edge closer to signing Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media (Soccer News 24), Milan are edge closer to signing Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic.

The Croatia international was signed by Fiorentina in August 2015 from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk for a fee of 5.5 million euros. The 29-year-old has a valid contract with Fiorentina until June 2019.

Since his arrival from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Nikola Kalinic has scored 33 goals and provided 11 assists in 84 games for Fiorentina in all competitions.

The Croatia international has been in outstanding form for Fiorentina last season.

Nikola Kalinic has represented Croatia at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 38 caps and scoring 31 goals, before making his senior international debut in May 2008. As a member of Croatia national football team, Nikola Kalinic has won 35 caps and has scored 14 goals.

Adding a striker remains Milan’s top priority this summer and Vincenzo Montella will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming days.

Vincenzo Montella is a long term admirer of Nikola Kalinic and believes he can get the most out of the Croatia international.

Milan manager wants to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.

Vincenzo Montella will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Fiorentina striker is thought to be among the manager’s priorities. Milan are desperate to make an impact in this summer transfer window.

According to the report in Italian Media, Milan will pay in the region of 27 million euros up front for Croatia international striker, with a further 5-6 million euros in bonuses. Nikola Kalinic could sign for Milan on Monday.
